In the past, remote monitoring and control of such things as switch position, gauge monitoring (either analogue or digital) was difficult and costly, but thanks to the I-Link 100 this is now a problem of the past.The I-Link 100 features 4 digital I/O ports with built in relays and 2 analogue I/O ports.
Extension modules have been developed to increase capacity, and up to three modules can be used at any one time. Dedicated I-Link PC software is used in Multipoint applications in order to configure the system and to provide system monitoring information. Data integrity is checked by introducing a Confirmation/Receipt protocol.
The C/R protocol ensures that a control command sent by the supervisor was correctly received by the I-Link at the destination. The destination automatically returns the message to the initiator and if the two messages do not compare a visible alarm is raised. Provision has also been made for an external alarm system.
